Objectware, Inc., an Atlanta-based Web Design Company, has partnered with Microsoft, ScanSource, IBM, and HP to deliver the next generation of web-based Point of Sale systems.
The new Point of Sale software, scheduled to launch in the 2nd quarter of 2004, will provide retailers with real-time data from multiple storefronts. Retailers, who operate multiple brick-and-mortar stores as well as an online shopping cart, face the challenge of coordinating data among all sales venues. Sales transactions that affect inventory will now be shared perpetually, real-time, between all aspects of the multi-store retailer. The new system will provide better control over inventory and will provide superior customer care as data is shared across the enterprise.
With Objectware’s new web-enabled POS technology, data from all registers, including the Internet, is shared and communicated real-time via Web Services to a remote data repository.
The new system allows stores to share sales data, inventory availability, pricing, and promotions. In addition, Objectware’s executive dashboard enables managers and key decision makers to control (real-time) overall enterprise performance such as aggregate reporting on sales, transaction price exceptions, low inventory alerts, and more.
