In 1988, I began my career as a novice software developer on Wall Street and new to the high-tech industry. In working with a variety of businesses, I was exposed to a wide range of computing challenges. Through these experiences I not only learned the foundations of software development, but I developed an understanding of the critical elements needed to maximize the benefits of an e-commerce solution.
As a programmer, analyst, team leader and project manager, I noticed a common thread in all our programming successes. Each endeavor where goals were met or exceeded, whether on time and/or below budget, consisted of a team where a few exceptionally bright "stars" were directly responsible for the outcome of the project. Whether we were working with a multi-million dollar budget, or just completing the primary start-up phases for a new business, the outcome largely depended on the quality and dedication of these few individuals.
My aspirations developed from there... Objectware Inc was founded on the premise of superb horizontal management, thorough attention to details, full commitment to our customers, and the hiring of the most talented and dedicated individuals. It's a simple yet powerful business model that has worked beyond my wildest dreams.
